Speaking at JavaZone 2024

I’m Casper Feng, an Oslo-based software developer and consultant.

I have had the privilege of gaining experience in consulting through various opportunities, including freelancing and leading Norway's largest student-led consulting firm. I have also had the opportunity to work on projects such as helping to explore the possibilities of Open Banking with Norway's largest bank, DNB, development for one of Norway's largest news outlets, TV 2 and contributing to the development of a mobile application for a major grocery operator, Coop Norge. While my experience is diverse, I am always eager to learn and take on new challenges.

I was born in Trondheim and, even though my family moved closer to Oslo, I still had the opportunity to study there. It was there that I earned my Master of Science in Computer Science. I've always had a broad range of interests, with a particular fondness for chess, traveling and football. Additionally, I enjoy music, having played the clarinet and saxophone.

I find satisfaction in building things from the ground up, always with the aim of leveraging technology to make life a little easier for developers and end users. My background in computer science has given me a valuable foundation for problem-solving, but it's the thrill of creatively tackling complex challenges that truly keeps me going. Even though I have a keen interest in keeping up with the latest advancements in technology, I am always mindful of the fact that there is so much more to learn. I continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow as a developer.

I'm currently writing Statens pensjonskasse Statens pensjonskasse (SPK). SPK, Norway's leading provider of public service pensions, operates under the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and adheres to the framework established by the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget). SPK manages pension rights worth 647 billion NOK, serving over 1,600 organizations and supporting more than one million current and former employees in state and private institutions such as schools, research institutes, pharmacies, and organizations. Each year, SPK disburses over 33 billion NOK in pensions.
